Plans...

So I don't have many plans for my trip.  But now I have two.  One, as soon as I get to BsAs, I'll drop my bag/bass off at the place I'm staying; which happens to be with a young, local professional bassist, two of them actually.

Then I'm off to stay at this hostel, at this beach: Villa Gesell, via bus.  I'll be there for a few days before I start some intensive Spanish classes.

At least, this is what I think will happen.  Who knows 'til I'm there.

  1. I left Matthew at the Raleigh/Durham Airport airport around 5pm tonight after completing the final "list of things to do". I just got the message (11:04pm) that he is leaving Toronto for Buenos Aires. I was holding my own until he said "this is the furthest that I have been 'away'. Up until then I had been in serious denial about the distance, the limited communication and inability to just jump in a car or book an airline ticket until that moment when I said "I love you" at the airport. I am "putting him on the bus for his first day of school" again, letting him go to explore his life. It's hard, the drive home to Carolina Beach endless, but I am proud to be his mom. Missing him already, tears come and go from nowhere. Having him, selfishly this past month, is a the treasured memory I hold close when I can't reach him. Tomorrow he will start to create the next chapters of his life through music, captured moments, and journal entries for me to follow in his journey.

I love you creating beauty for all of us to share.

  2. Will he have any internet/email capability. Or is that something for which we should "stay tuned"?

Tell him the John Gawronski family wishes him all the best. Sure wish he was around for the initial Obama activity. Oh well. When he returns, I'm sure this country will be much better off.

    Love you,

    John
